Test Week Work November 2012 - ICT and Legislation

There are many laws that cover technology and employment see page 36 for a list of most of the laws: as well as the following acts:
  • The Communications Act 2003 is often used when people send offensive emails etc
  • The Digital Economy Act 2010 - covers software piracy.

  • Task 1a
    Details are in the ICT book on page 36-37
    Complete Activity 11 (work in groups of three as then each person will need to cover three acts as with the list on page 36 and two acts list at the start of this post there are 9 acts in total). 
    Create a Three Page Presentation (minimum) (do not include a title page in the three slides and then email each other your presentation.  Then each student should combine their presentation with the two they will be sent and then produce a combined 9 slide presentation.   
    Post your presentation on your blog and email it to me at stuartgcburke@gmail.co.uk

    Task 1b
    Read the article "We're missing the big picture" which details the debate on the status of copyright images on Facebook and other Social Networks and "Muse refuse to entertain £2m lawsuit" and create a presentation of how the copyright law and Facebook work together, post this under the title 'Copyright and Social Media'. 

    Deadline for this work is Friday 30th December 2012

    E-Commerce & Social Networking

    As we have already seen E-Commerce is a fastest growing part of the economy.  With the rapid expansion of facebook and other social networking websites.  Business have realised that one way of reaching customers is by using social networking sites.  As customer have shown is surveys that they are more likely to buy a product that other friends say is good.

    Read the article below and look at the slides for a presentation about marketing on Facebook and explain how these two will effect how Companies will need to develop an on-line presence to survive in the future.

    Online Marketing - The Future?

    With the growth of online marketing and web sales will all catalogue go the way of Argos?
    Make a list of catologues and which are still being printed and how many are now being replaced by online versions. Is there a problem with this trend?
